NMRMC Lands Top Recommended List

Becker's Hospital Review compiled a list of hospitals patients are most likely to recommend in every state using Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems data from CMS. Neosho Memorial in Chanute, Kansas, stood out on this prestigious list, a testament to its unique position in the region.

"Considering there are 164 Kansas hospitals, we are honored to earn this distinction. We work very hard to provide the best patient experience possible. Our staff trains and performs extremely well," says Dennis Franks, NMRMC CEO.

Becker explains that the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) surveys every inpatient with an HCAHPS survey. CMS assigns HCAHPS star ratings based on patient's responses. The question, "Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?" requires hospitals to have at least 100 completed HCAHPS surveys in a four-quarter period to be eligible for a star rating.

The 16 Kansas hospitals include:

  • Clara Barton Hospital (Hoisington)
  •
  • Clay County Medical Center (Clay Center)
