Pricing Transparency

Price Transparency

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require all hospitals to publish their charge description master. To offer our patients more information about costs and charges, we share our price transparency files.

Comprehensive Health Plans

These are comprehensive listings of individual procedures, services and items billable to a hospital patient or a patient's health insurance provider. It is important to note the files do not reflect what a patient pays, but rather show charges before specific variables, like insurance plans, are applied. These files are updated annually.

CMS requires all hospitals to provide these documents in the format shown here. We want you to have as much information as possible when making healthcare decisions and planning for your care. However, it’s important to understand that many variables related to your specific treatment and insurance coverage are not reflected in these files.

You can use these documents as a guide to become more informed. For a more personalized estimate and a clearer understanding of your individual costs, we recommend contacting our financial counselors. They can provide estimates based on details specific to you and your care. Call 620-432-5386.

When reviewing a price transparency file, remember:

  • While this document outlines standard base charges, and certain other information, these are not necessarily charges a patient will have to pay.
  • Every patient is unique and actual payment is highly dependent upon a combination of factors.
  • Even for similar procedures at the same facility, what a patient actually pays may differ based on their insurance plan and other factors.
  • Cost is only one factor consumers should review when making healthcare decisions. Outcomes, quality/safety data and experiences should also be considered.
  • The machine-readable files are posted in the required format but may be difficult for the average consumer to download and read. This format is designed to allow researchers, regulators and application developers to more easily access and analyze large volumes of data. For a more consumer-friendly experience that delivers more personalized results, we recommend calling one of our counselors.
Neosho Memorial has made its standard charges for items and services available to help patients better understand how their insurance company may cover services received at NMRMC. This information can also assist in comparing charges for similar services across different hospitals. Please note that these files are not intended to reflect a patient’s individual out-of-pocket costs.

Attestation

Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center,

  • To the best of its knowledge and belief, the hospital has included all applicable standard charge information according to the requirements of 45 CFR 180.50, and that the information encoded is true, accurate, and complete as of the date in the file
  • That the hospital has included all applicable payer-specific negotiated charges that can be expressed as a dollar amount
  • For payer-specific negotiated charges that can’t be expressed as a dollar amount in the machine-readable file (MRF) or aren’t knowable in advance, that the hospital has included all available information the public needs to derive a dollar amount, including, but not limited to, the specific fee schedule or components
Neosho Memorial attests that the payer-specific negotiated charge is based on a contractual algorithm, percentage or formula that precludes the provision of a dollar amount and has provided all necessary information available to the hospital for the public to be able to derive the dollar amount, including, but not limited to, the specific fee schedule or components referenced in such percentage, algorithm or formula.
